Christian Spiritual Guidance
There are many ways that we can journey with someone as they follow Jesus. Not all ways are right for everyone, and sometimes different seasons call for different types of people and help along the way. The way I journey with people is as a spiritual guide. Let me be clear, though. I have no idea where you’re going, the path you’re going to take, or how long it will take to get there. Only God has those answers.
The spiritual guidance I offer comes from my experiences of walking through the metaphorical parted sea, wandering in the wilderness, being thrown into the fiery furnace of refining, and the wisdom I gained along the way. I don’t know your particular path, but I understand what it feels like when you fall into the pit and aren’t sure how to get out. I’ve had the doubts and frustrations of wondering where God is in all of it. I am familiar with the traps and snares the devil sets for us, having experienced spiritual warfare that I previously thought was impossible. The pain endured through God’s discipline and refining are deeply embedded in who I have become and the kind of compassion and grace I have for others in their hardships. I may not know the way you are going, but I can help you recognize the signposts for your specific journey.
My goal is to offer strength and support for your sanctification by:
Teaching you ways to draw closer to God and to hear His voice through spiritual disciplines
Evaluating your foundation to make sure it is firmly laid on the true nature of God’s character
Providing knowledge of how the devil attacks and tempts, and if I notice any of it happening in your life
Offering awareness of ways we tend to inadvertently usurp God’s authority in our lives and call attention to any blind spots you might have in this area
Helping you pay attention to how fear plays a role in your life, and how it might be motivating you in a direction that is away from the path God is leading you towards
Assisting you with discerning the difference between your feelings and the truth
Reorienting your attention to focus on God through whatever storms may come
Together, we will pay attention to what God is saying to you and where He seems to be leading you. That doesn’t mean that the path will always go in a direction that feels “right.” Sometimes, you have to go the wrong way before you know which way you are really meant to go. Some seasons are incredibly disorienting and seem like you’re going in circles. And you might actually be doing that! Going in circles can be painfully frustrating in ways that people who have not been there before simply cannot understand. I may not know when your wandering days will end, but I can be there to encourage you and walk with you through whatever hardships you encounter along the way.
You are never obligated to follow any guidance I offer, and I always encourage you to talk to God and pray about anything that we discuss. You are ultimately responsible for whatever choices you make. Spiritual guidance is not about blindly following anything I say, but I do ask that you seriously desire a guide to help you navigate your journey. I will not always tell you what you want to hear, and things I say may be difficult to process, but my desire is always for your good and to help you move into the fullness of whatever God has for you.
Spiritual guidance is NOT mental health counseling. I am not a licensed counselor. Sometimes, my guidance may feel therapeutic, simply because deepening intimacy with God very often brings with it healing in both the realms of spiritual and mental/emotional/psychological. If I notice something that is outside the scope of my guidance as it pertains to mental health, then I can help you find a counselor in your state.
Spiritual guidance is also NOT spiritual direction. I am a trained spiritual director, and while that training has influenced and informed much of how I guide, spiritual direction and spiritual guidance are not the same thing. Spiritual direction is a misnomer in the sense that the spiritual director is not the director; God is the director. I prefer to think of spiritual direction as holy listening. In spiritual direction, there are a lot more questions asked than guidance provided. Both involve listening to you and to God, but spiritual guidance offers insight and wisdom, whereas spiritual direction typically does not – which I know seems odd given the name. Currently, I am not offering spiritual direction, so if you are looking for someone to listen and offer areas of reflection and questions to ponder for you to figure things out on your own, then I would not be a good fit for you. If spiritual direction does sound like what you are looking for, visit my FAQs for more information.
At this time, I am only offering spiritual guidance to women. It is important to determine if we are a good fit and ensure we both sense God guiding us to journey together. To begin the discernment process, I offer a free 30-minute consultation. This gives us the opportunity to get to know each other a bit and for you to ask any questions you may have. If we mutually decide to move forward, the suggested contribution for a 50-60 minute session is $100. That said, I believe strongly that the Lord has asked me to offer this to women at whatever amount they can truly afford, so if you cannot afford $100, then pay what you can. I know what it's like to be in a season where what you can afford is nothing. I do ask you to be honest about your situation, given that this is how I support my family, but ultimately, whatever you can contribute is between you and God. I will not turn anyone away simply because they are unable to pay. There may be other reasons that the Lord might not be leading us to journey together, but it won't be because of money. All sessions are virtual and can be weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, depending on preference and need.

A successful time of spiritual formation requires mature spiritual guides to lead us through the obstacles. God himself is the perfect spiritual guide, yet God prepares and provides us with visible guides to show us the way. A good spiritual guide is a person of deep faith and integrity who already has gone down the path and knows it well.

Spiritual Guidance for the Consecrated
Maybe you’re in ministry, or maybe there’s no division in your life between the sacred and the secular because your life is fully devoted to God, regardless of what you’re doing. Either way, you’ve got a massive target on your back as someone who has surrendered their will to God's will.
Does it feel like Satan asked for permission to sift you like wheat - tempting, deceiving, and distorting everything - and God gave the go-ahead? Is the valley of the shadow of death your current residence? Are you in the furnace of affliction, and all your sin is rising to the surface, exposed and causing utter mayhem in your life? Do friends and family sound like Job’s friends, and is your life being stripped of nearly everything you loved and valued? Can you barely see what’s coming next because all you have is the lamp to your feet to light the way?
Having been through all of those myself, I know firsthand that there’s not a human alive who can give you any of the answers you’re looking for. God is the only One who knows what you seek. As a spiritual guide for the consecrated, I am not at all interested in judging your situation or telling you why I think it’s all happening. I don’t have those answers, and I’m not going to pretend that I do. Depending on what you’re going through, we will probably cover some of the same things that I mentioned in spiritual guidance. You may already know a lot of it, but this season what you're experiencing will take things to a deeper level, requiring a deeper understanding. I also want to offer you a safe space to process everything you’re enduring, and to help you cling to God like your life depends on it. Because that may very well be the truth of the matter.
There may be times you already know you have succumbed to Satan’s temptations and you are deeply repentant, but need someone to help guide you through what to do next, so you don’t continue on that path. I can help guide you, but I promise you it won’t be an easy journey. Please know that if you’re merely sorry you got caught rather than truly repentant, I will not be able to help you. Humility is required to move forward.
None of it will be easy, but if you can hold on to the truth that I am for you and so is God, then I will do my best to help you make it through to the other side.

At this time, I am only offering spiritual guidance for the consecrated to women. All sessions are virtual and can be weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly, depending on preference and need. Due to the nature, intensity, and rapid pace at which things often proceed in spiritual guidance for the consecrated, you may desire additional assistance between our meetings. If you find this to be the case, for a contribution of $100 per month, you will be given access to me via email or Voxer. This offering contribution is not negotiable.
Christian Spiritual Discernment

Are you trying to discern where God might be leading you, but do not have anyone to help you work through it? Or maybe you know there's fear holding you back, but you’re not sure what it is, and you need help figuring it out. Sometimes you don’t necessarily need full spiritual guidance, but you are looking for someone to help you spiritually discern specific aspects of your life. Spiritual discernment may be something that is resolved in one session, or it may require a year or more, depending on what you are discerning. Ultimately, spiritual discernment is often at the mercy of God’s revelation and timing, not ours.
I always encourage you to talk to God and pray about anything that we discuss. You are ultimately responsible for whatever choices you make. Spiritual discernment is not about blindly following anything I say and is not meant to override your personal relationship with God through the Holy Spirit.
At this time, I am only offering spiritual discernment to women. It is important to determine if we are a good fit and ensure we both have an abiding sense of God’s presence in our spiritual discernment relationship. To begin that process, I offer a free 15-minute consultation. This gives us the opportunity to get to know each other a bit and for you to ask any questions you may have. If we mutually decide to move forward, the suggested contribution for a 25-30 minute session is $50 or $100 for a 50-60 minute session. That said, I believe strongly that the Lord has asked me to offer this to women at whatever amount they can truly afford, so if you cannot afford $50/$100, then pay what you can. I know what it's like to be in a season where what you can afford is nothing. I do ask you to be honest about your situation, given that this is how I support my family, but ultimately, whatever you offer is between you and God. I will not turn anyone away simply because they are unable to pay. There may be other reasons that the Lord might not be leading us to spiritually discern together, but it won't be because of money. All sessions are virtual and are as needed based on your situation.
